How To Make Deposits On Casinos?
When it comes to casinos, you want the thrill of the spinning of the reels in the slot games or the excitement of seeing where the ball drops in roulette. It can even be fun bets to win a little bit of cash while watching your favourite football game. And it’s easy to deposit and join the thrills. The deposit process at any online casino is not any more different or difficult than shopping online.
Online Casino Payment Options
The difference in payment options when shopping online and the deposit methods when you’re playing at an online casino, is that the online casino usually offers more options. We cover most of them here and depositing at an online casino is easy. You just need an account (unless you’re depositing at one of the new and trendy no-registration casinos), and once you’re logged in you will find the option to deposit. Here, you choose the amount you want to play with for the moment or for the entire evening, continue with the deposit by following the instructions and then you’re good to go.
Regardless if it’s your first time depositing to an online casino or if it’s your 100th, we wish you the best of luck whenever you play. If you need help finding which casino is the best for you, you can check out our reviews or our list of the best casinos right now. If you want to know more about the different payment options available to you from most casinos, you can keep on reading below!
Bitcoin & Cryptocurrencies
There are a lot of virtual coins or cryptocurrencies out there, but the one most people have heard of is Bitcoin. You can buy Bitcoin in the same way as you buy Euros, Dollars, Pounds or any other currency. There is only a limited amount of coins in the world, which makes the value of each coin immune to inflation. Now, you might be thinking that the value of Bitcoin still changes. That’s because the value of each coin is based on how popular Bitcoin is. At the time of writing this, there are still coins being mined by supercomputers in the world, but once they are all mined, there will not be any more of them. We won’t go into more details on how Bitcoin works right now, but it’s a fascinating technology and casinos are adapting to accept the currency in betting and gambling.
Bitcoin and other Cryptocurrencies are getting more and more popular in online gaming!
Bitcoin, in the world of online casinos, usually involves a conversion. Bitcoin is converted into dollars, euros or any other currency that the casino offers. Then you can usually withdraw back into Bitcoin, making another conversion. This allows you to use the Bitcoin you have to play for fun and perhaps increase your investment into the cryptocurrency. There is not only the option of converting but there are also casinos that offer you to deposit, play and withdraw using only Bitcoin and without having to convert. The benefit of this is that you don’t have any conversion fees, and the value of the bet doesn’t change from the time of deposit to the time of withdrawing.
Brite
Brite is a unique payment gateway that has risen like a star within a short period of time, and has attracted casinos like Caxino, Boom Casino, Playerz. It facilitates direct bank-to-bank technology, just like Trustly, and strives to solve many online casinos’ problems today. Its swiftness and security appeal to customers’ increasing demand, and therefore, they have spread to many online casinos. Several operators in mainly the northern parts of Europe now offer Brite as one of their most modern banking methods. Trustly surely will have to watch out for new Brite casinos, as this newcomer is a strong competitor for the, until this day, unchallenged number one spot among open banking payment providers in the casino industry.
Trustly Pay N Play
Trustly is a Swedish open banking payment service available in a total of 21 supported territories, which makes it the biggest provider of open banking payments. The coined expressions ‘Trustly Pay N Play’, ‘No account casinos’, and ‘Trustly casinos’ have become well-known wordings in the casino industry over the last couple of years, and Trustly has become the go-to payment provider for players in Europe who want instant deposits and withdrawals. Trustly simply link your banking and casino accounts, and therefore there is no need to register an additional account since you are already identified by your bank. This means you also don’t have to do any administrative KYC work to identify yourself. Trustly is just as safe as any bank as they use the same API as the bank for the transfers. Trustly also functions as a financial institution regulated by the Swedish FSA, just like any other bank.
Card Payments
Making deposits with a card is one of the most common options with online casinos. If you’ve ever paid for something with your card online, you can most likely use it when it comes to the online casino world as well. However, some casinos do not accept American Express, due to the regulations in the USA for online casinos. But if you’re not living there, you can always have a chat with the friendly online casino staff. They will be able to confirm if you can use this card or not.
When it comes to cards, there’s not just a single universal card that you use, there’s either debit card or credit card. If you’re unsure which is which, or which one you have, debit is when the amount is taken from your account balance and credit is when the amount is charged on an invoice that you have to pay at a later point.
Most casinos accept both options, but if you can’t decide between the two, we recommend that you’re only using your debit card so that you don’t spend more on casinos than you can afford. And keep in mind that you can always set a limit to your deposits if you rather use your credit card. We want you to stay safe and only play because it’s fun!
Visa, Mastercard & Maestro
The different card options that you have is, in general, Visa or Mastercard. There’s a bit of a difference between the two. For Visa, you can use both Visa and Visa Electron, and with Mastercard, there are Mastercard and Maestro. The regular Visa or Mastercard means that you can use your card like we expect a card to work, pay online and in-person as well as withdraw and even pay for petrol or gas. Visa Electron and Maestro, on the other hand, require the amount that is withdrawn to be available on the card at the time of withdrawal. That means that it’s next to impossible to have an overdraft.
And because filling your car requires you to swipe the card before you know how much you will use; Visa Electron is usually not accepted in automated filling stations. Maestro is also different from Visa Electron because you can also top-up the card. You can use Visa, Visa Electron, Mastercard and Maestro at most casinos, and the amount is charged right away.
Bank Transfer and Cheque
Just after card deposits, we have bank transfer and banking methods. This option is popular only because bank transfer can be a very easy method of depositing, but also because there are so many new casinos launching that don’t require that you have an account before you play. These online casinos usually only accept bank transfers. And it’s super easy! Here are the casino banking methods for 2022.
Trustly Pay N Play Transactions
When it comes to a bank transfer, you can use Trustly, which is the most common option, wire transfer or sometimes even a cheque. Even though cheque isn’t widely used and it is being phased out in most parts of the world, it’s not weird to want to use this method. Therefore, there are still online casinos that offer you the cheque option. Depositing with a cheque can sometimes be a lengthy process, it can take up to 30 days before the deposit shows up on your account. But we’ve seen quite fast processing times as well, down to just a couple of days. If you want even faster processing, you can choose to make your deposit through a wire transfer. There are a couple of payment providers that can help you, like Bank Wire and Fast Bank Transfer.
This is the method where you receive a unique code from the casino or the payment provider and an account number to send the money to. You then enter the custom number or code into the “message to receiver” section, enter the bank account number and process the payment. The payment provider will then process your deposit the second it reaches them. Depending on your bank, the transfer can take from 1 up to 10 banking days.
If you want the money to be in your account right away, we don’t recommend a cheque or wire transfer, but we understand the need for it and sometimes it’s necessary. However, these are not your only options for bank deposits. There’s a provider called Trustly that processes bank transfers instantly. They work in a similar way as the bank transfer we mentioned earlier.
Trustly makes the deposits and withdrawals super fast!
But Trustly does all of the work for you, and you actually log into your bank account like normal. Since you process the payment through them, they know that the payment has been sent from your end and can credit you the deposit the second you complete it. You don’t even have an account with Trustly, they’re not an e-wallet (see below for this method). They are simply the middleman and help you out with the transfer and verify you. Trustly is a great option when you don’t want to enter your card details, don’t have your card close by or you can’t use Visa Electron, Maestro or a pre-paid card.
E-wallets
In third place, the most common payment options are the e-wallets. These are electronic wallets (hence the name) that hold your funds and make your online activities a bit safer. The original idea of these providers was to assist you when you wanted to shop at a kind of shady online store and to make sure that you didn’t get your card details stolen. You deposited the money into your e-wallet, and then you used those funds to pay online. Kind of like a virtual prepaid card. But these providers have grown into so much more and offer all kinds of other benefits to their users, and the e-wallets are being used in everything done online and offline, not just shady stuff. There are also some shops online that only accept e-wallets and want to avoid the high processing fees of the card providers.
PayPal
First up we have PayPal, this is probably one of the most famous ones. PayPal has been around for quite some time and can be used both as a wallet or as a middleman for cards. This means that a sum of money is deposited to the account, which is then used to pay online, or as just a separate payment in one continuous flow. If an online casino offers PayPal as a deposit method, we’re definitely letting you know.
Skrill & Neteller
The other two well-known e-wallets are Skrill and Neteller. You can use both on most casinos, and you usually do a top-up to add money to your Skrill or Neteller account that you can deposit into an online casino later. It’s another safe way of making sure you don’t overdraft your account.

Phone
The final deposit method for online casinos that we want to talk about is depositing with your phone. Even though we mention this at the very end, this is an option that is really seeing rapid growth lately. There are several options, the first one we want to bring up is Boku. Here you deposit by text message. You simply enter your phone number, and how much you want to deposit and then you will receive a message on your phone, asking you to confirm the amount. All you have to do is reply according to the instructions, and your deposit is on your casino account. The amount is then charged on your monthly phone bill or withdrawn from your prepaid account at the same time as you reply to the text.
Siru Mobile
The second way to pay with your phone is through Siru Mobile, it’s really easy too. You simply enter the deposit amount and your phone number, then you will receive a unique phone number for you to call. Once you’ve made the call to this number, the deposit amount is added to your casino account, and you’re ready to play. The deposited amount will then show up on your phone bill or be charged from your top-up card right away. Depositing with Siru Mobile is really easy, just like Boku. Just keep in mind that there might be maximum deposit amounts with both of these casino payment methods, both per deposit and per month.
Last But Not Least, There’s Zimpler
This deposit method is a bit of a mix between an e-wallet and pay with your phone. You use your phone number to have a saved profile with all of your favourite payment methods. You can pay not only with card, but you can also use the invoice option, bank transfer or the Swedish mobile payment option Swish. All of these methods can be used to deposit at places that usually don’t offer those options.
But Zimpler is not an e-wallet like Skrill or Neteller, you don’t deposit to the account. Instead, Zimpler keeps track of all of your payment options in one place – just like a wallet. When you’re ready to deposit, you enter your phone number, and you will receive a code by text. Once you’ve entered the code, you will see all of your payment options. Choose the one you prefer, and then you’re done. It’s an easy and convenient way of keeping track of all of your cards and banking details.
Whether you want to deposit with your phone, card, bank, Bitcoin or e-wallet, we make it easy for you to see all of the different online casino deposit methods in our list of the best casinos right now. To get a more detailed view of each casino, you can check out our reviews.
